any
carriers are embracing the Next Generation of SDH and SONET because it
answers the challenge of transporting data, specially Ethernet and IP,
without needing to replace the installed equipment base.
The only change needed to update the network is to migrate the edge
nodes. The network will be then ready to transport data packets efficiently
using the Generic Framing Protocol (GFP), Virtual Concatenation (VCAT)
and Link Capacity Adjustment Scheme (LCAS).
In order to match the requirements of those who are now installing the
new generation of SDH nodes or MSPP, we have designed Victoria Combo NG
2.5G, the smallest, lightest and most powerful compact field tester on
market for this technology. |

Synopsis |
 |
Trend Communications
announces a new Victoria Combo NG 2.5G model for testing SDH/SONET Next
Generation networks.
This new module is supplied with a comprehensive set of functions to
test GFP, VCAT, LCAS, and legacy SDH as well, from 52Mbit/s up to 2.5Gbit/s.
The SDH NG module adds to the advanced, powerful testing capabilities
of the Victoria Combo platform; a future proof, scalable and stackable,
compact platform; that includes touchscreen, Java remote control and viewers
concurrently.
If, at a later date, you want to add to the capabilities of your tester
you can select a combination of several modules for several technologies. |

-
Comprehensive LCAS, GFP and VCAT analysis/emulation
-
LO Virtual Concatenation, up to 64 members per group
-
HO Virtual Concatenation, up to 16 VC-4 or 48 VC-3 members per group
-
Differential delays control up to 256ms
-
Alarm and error insertion: continuous, burst or single
-
Optical power measurement
-
Wireless access from a PC or a WebPad
-

Applications |
 |
| Victoria Combo NG 2.5G has everything
you need, and more, for advanced analysis, generation and emulation of
all Next Generation functions. This tester enables you to check that data
transmission is correct and efficient, and you can trust that data services
are correctly configured and provisioned.
Installation of MSPP nodes
Multiservice Provisioning
Platforms (MSPP) are nodes that can handle traditional circuits natively,
but employ framing processe also to handle also data traffic.
Victoria Combo NG 2.5G is equiped with the features you need to determine
the optimal configuration of MSPP nodes regarding the protocols and SDH
hierarchy.
Migration
to Next Generation SDH
Outstanding features for
testing GFP, VCAT, and LCAS including Arbitrary VCG sizes, Differential
delay up to 256ms, GFP editing and filtering, Events insertion/analysis/trace,
Ethernet payload (VLAN, MPLS, IP, etc) LCAS protocol emulation and decoding.
Ethernet transport verification
Thanks to the tester’s
ability to generate and analyse Ethernet traffic, it can also monitor bandwidth
use and packet sizes, detect errors and faults in accordance with the RFC
2544. It also measures time parameters such as delay and frame loss to
check suitability of time delay sensitive application such as VoIP,
TVoD or Gaming.
Legacy SDH Maintenance
Victoria Combo allows
BER-based monitoring of legacy SDH/SONET networks, analysing events and
synchronisation.
