Modular and Customisable

Victoria Combo Jitter/Wander is fully adaptable to field and office work, to a large number of current and future technologies, and to the needs of any user.

Less experienced users can start using the tester with practically no training at all, thanks to the automatic testing features of Victoria Combo. Expert users won't be disappointed either; they can quickly set up the tester according to their needs and run any detailed tests step by step, controlling every phase of the process.

Clear Results

In Victoria Combo Jitter/Wander, results are displayed clearly, on the impressive 10.4-inch touch screen with 800 x 600 pixel colour SVGA resolution.

Results are displayed as graphs or tables, and they can be directly compared to the masks and thresholds defined in the ITU-T standards. Printing or transferring them onto a PC is quick, and it can be done either by using a Microdrive memory card or via TCP/IP.

Multiple Users Anywhere in the World

With Victoria Combo, distance makes no difference any more, because you can use the tester from anywhere in the world, any time, via TCP/IP and the Internet. Multiple users can easily work with the same tester, even simultaneously, thanks to the amazing multitasking capacity of Victoria Combo.

Jitter and Wander Measurements Made Easy

Victoria Combo Jitter/Wander is packed with features for efficient jitter/wander testing for SDH, SONET, PDH and T-Carrier interfaces. These features include:

Jitter Tolerance Test

Network elements (NE) must tolerate a certain amount of jitter in their inputs. Jitter tolerance is therefore the maximum jitter amplitude accepted without losing synchronisation or introducing anomalies. This amount is specified in Recommendations ITU-T Rec. G.823 (PDH), and G.958 and G.825 for SDH, and Telcordia GR-499 (T-Carrier), and GR-253 (SONET).

Victoria Combo Jitter/Wander includes several options for efficient jitter tolerance measurements, and conformity with standards is quickly checked as the results are compared to the masks and thresholds defined in the corresponding recommendations.

Jitter Transfer Test

NEs have a limited capacity to eliminate the jitter that may occur in their input ports. To evaluate this filtering capacity, jitter transfer tests define the relation between the jitter amplitudes on input and output for a set range of frequencies.

Victoria Combo Jitter/Wander has a full jitter transfer testing capability, and what's more, the tests are really easy to carry out, and the results are always displayed clearly.

Network Interconnection Test

Pointer movements are a major cause of slips and service degradation in mature SDH/SONET networks. And this is what often happens when two networks are interconnected, particularly when they belong to different operators, as each network is synchronised by a different clock.

Victoria Combo Jitter/Wander analyses pointer adjustments, as well as frequency and phase offset between clocks, to determine and eventually fix the causes of clock impairments.

TIE, MRTIE, MTIE and TDEV

Victoria Combo Jitter/Wander is unique in that it can carry out full built-in wander measurements in real time (TIE, MTIE, TDEV), without using external software.
