Trend Unipro GbE has a rugged design and is protected with a flexible, shock-proof rubber boot. The tester keyboard is waterproof and the screen is built to last even in harsh weather conditions.

The features of this tester meet today’s market demands for Carrier-Grade Ethernet and Multiplay testing. Trend Unipro GbE is a new Gigabit Ethernet tester designed and manufactured by Trend Communications. This tester can be used for field work, in the central office, street cabinets or subscriber sites. Even though Trend Unipro GbE is a low-cost test set, it has the same features as most of the more sophisticated laboratory test platforms.

Field Tester

Trend Unipro GbE is a real field tester that engineers will appreciate, since it suitable for working conditions when installing telecom infrastructures. Thus its batteries and GBIC interfaces are field replaceable, while a generous rubber boot protects the case from impacts. The tester is fully equipped and includes innovative features, such as cable testing functionalities, power measurements and multistream analysis and generation.

Bidirectional Monitoring

Trend Unipro GbE is furnished with dual-ports to permit both full duplex monitoring and intrusive bidirectional tests. This feature makes Trend Unipro suitable for all kinds of installation, commissioning and troubleshooting tasks.

VLAN Stacking

Trend Unipro GbE can generate and analyse stacked VLAN tagged frames. This feature, also known as Q-in-Q, permits the verification of many important features that differentiate Carrier grade from traditional Ethernet networks:

• QoS traffic differentiation on a per-VLAN basis.
• Mapping of MPLS labels onto VLAN tags
• Modification of VLAN tags across the network

IPv6 Support

The growth of the Internet is leading to the adoption of IPv6, since the 128-bit addresses provide enough capacity for years to come. Carriers migrating to IPv6 can already use this instrument, which is ready to work with both legacy and new generation packets.

Trend Unipro GbE is a powerful tool for commissioning all types of Ethernet resources. The basic aim of this solution is to commission Carrier grade Ethernet networks, which are being used to grant connectivity and/or multiplay services.

Mass Carrier Ethernet Service Rollout

Thanks to its dual electrical and optical GbE ports and the comprehensive VLAN stacking support, Trend Unipro Carrier grade Ethernet services can be verified anywhere.

QoS and SLA verification are also essential in E-Line, E-LAN and E-Tree service rollout and troubleshooting. Trend Multipro enables you to generate multistream traffic made of up to eight data flows with custom bandwidth profiles and class of service (CoS) marks. Afterwards you can measure flow statistics such as packet delay, packet jitter, packet loss and those parameters that determine the QoS. This enables you to check mechanisms such as admission control (CAC), or resource reservation protocols. The results of these tests provide a reliable prediction of the capacity of the network to deliver audiovisual programs and to implement all kinds of next generation applications.

Network Equipment Acceptance

The RFC 2544 measurements included in Trend Unipro are specifically intended for benchmarking and commissioning networks and nodes, thanks to a number of MAC layer tests, (i.e. throughput, latency, frame loss, etc) that are used to describe the performance characteristics.

Multilayer Testing of Enterprise Networks

Trend Unipro is an attractive and cost effetive solution for large enterpise networks. It provides physical, MAC, IP and upper layer tests of Enterprise networks.

PoE testing enables you to check compliance with IEEE 802.3af standard power sourcing devices. Wiremap verification of UTP cables is useful for installation tasks and TCP/IP protocol statistics provide full, real-time information on network operation, helping detect problems such as congestion.
