Convergence India 2005

Trend Communications is participating in the 13th Convergence India exhibition held 22 - 24 March in the Pragati Maidan Exhibition Centre in New Delhi, India. Testing GFP with Victoria Combo

HIGH WYCOMBE (UK) Jan 21th. This application note explains GFP and explains how to set up Victoria Combo to test a network using GFP. The GFP (Generic Framing Procedure) is an important part of Next Generation Networks. GFP means that networks can be much more packet-friendly, ideal for traffic such as Ethernet, PPP and DVB).  Victoria Combo can test networks carrying GFP traffic. It can both transmit and receive traffic, and provides extensive statistics on GFP frames received and transmitted.

Any problems detected with the traffic being received, for example Uncorrectable cHEC errors, are logged. If errors are detected on the network the total number of errors, the error rate, and number of errored seconds are displayed. Victoria Combo can detect the following types of errors:    Core Header Error Checksum  Type Header Error Checksum Extension Header Error Checksum  Payload Frame Check Sum.
