Challenges and Answers
We do not tend to show off with our past, although we were first in using microprocessors in test and measurement equipment, and pioneers in designing hand-held testers. Our strength is based on the robustness and high quality of our products. Trend Communications equals to innovation in that we have perfectly combined the use of software with the power of silicon, this being the key in testing the new high-capacity, high-performance networks.
Our product portfolio extends from easy-to-use testers to highly sophisticated test and measurement systems, and all our products stand out as very user-friendly for all types of users, from the most to the least experienced ones. Our testers easily adapt to the needs and knowledge of any user.
Our range of products can be classified into three main groups:
- Hand-held testers mainly focused on analyzing the lower network layers
- On-line systems for remote control and monitoring of network services and infrastructure
- Specialized software for detailed network traffic analysis
Trend's streamlined solutions combine the know-how of our qualified team of experts in technologies such as ADSL, ATM, E1, FRL, ISDN, IP, Gigabit Ethernet, PDH, SONET/SDH and Synchronization. These technologies are the basis of most of our applications defining the modern world in terms of Internet, fixed and mobile telephony, digital TV, and so on.
Human Geography
The multinational structure of Trend Communications is the result of our strategy to expand and form specialized units in different parts of the world. Our headquarters are based in Cookham, Maidenhead, where our Management, Financial and Marketing departments are situated. One of our two R&D units is also situated there, in the County of Berkshire in England. This Research and Development center designs our products for access technologies, such as ADSL, SHDSL, ISDN, FRL, ATM and Gigabit Ethernet. Trend's other R&D unit is based in the Mediterranean Barcelona (Spain), and it is specialized in core technologies, such as SONET/SDH, PDH, ATM and T1/E1.
Commercially speaking Trend is present on all continents. Our subsidiaries in France, Germany, India, Spain, U.K. and U.S. are the sales and support channel for our customers in these countries. We also have more than 30 distributors worldwide, so we are actively operating in most of the countries of the world
