The transmission media and network elements that connect the input and output points in the SDH network for high rate (34, 45 or 140 Mbit/s) tributaries or a combination of low rate tributaries. They must handle the routing and formats of the virtual containers where the information to be transported is put into packets. These input and output points can be the LTMUX, the DXC and the ADM.
